Vest Pocket Kodaks

My two vest pocket kodaks are currently a work in progress.

One will probably remain an artefact to be handled and looked at when I explain my project. My second VPK with the Cooke lens is proving more difficult to get working than at first envisioned. As far as I can gather, it is the same model as the one Captain John Noel gave to the members of the 1924 Mount Everest Expedition, one of which was lost with Mallory and Irvine when they did not return from their attempt at reaching the summit. Below are some photographs of experimentations with trying to fix the bellows.

This is the result of a few hours of processing my first roll of 127 film. I carefully measured volumes and temperatures. I used pyro developing fluid that produces beautifully detailed photographs. And this happened:
